FROM THE FIRST PLACE WINNER-MENTOR!
"The Mentor Senior Center was thrilled to participate in the Mind Challenge again this year. It was great to see the addition of so many additional cities and teams which made the competition top notch. We were delighted to host the first two rounds of the event and enjoyed the sea of orange shirts during the competition. The pandemic changed the original game plan, but Art, Phil and Lana persevered and creatively offered virtual competition. Congrats to the tough as nails Mentor team that pulled out the win for the second year in a row. It was wonderful to have a fun event, that keeps the mind sharp and gave our seniors something to do and something to look forward to during the pandemic. We are looking very forward to year 3."

"I would like to thank everyone who initiated Mind Challenge and taking the time to make it happen virtually during COVID-19.
This activity has become a new and regular program at our senior center! The team had a lot of fun and made new friends along the way.
It not only brought a new group of people together, many seniors also became involved by cheering us on. Everyone loves it. Brain exercise is just as important as physical exercise. Thank you for something EXCITING AND NEW!!!!"

"Thanks so much for your kind words! We had a blast participating even though we did not win. If you do it again next year we are all in again and I think we will have even more participation. I commend you all for your efforts in this trying time. I know it could not have been easy to do it remotely but you all met the challenges so well! I really felt for you Lana yesterday but thought you handled it so gracefully. Seniors and technology are tricky.I will certainly keep all the vendors in mind and hopefully once we open again I can have some of them come in to speak. Can I ask who ended up winning for the Rocky River group? We will be cheering for them in the finals next week!
Thanks again for everything,"

"Thanks to the 3 of you! You pulled it off. I was able to watch for a short time – and then was on a call with 3 others Directors who were talking about it and hoping for wins – keeping that goal of feeling part a larger community. Wish I could say – Go Solon
Congrats! If we couldn’t be in the finals – I am pleased to see the money winners. Looking forward to seeing both of you in-person too."

"Hi, this is Larry Morrow and welcome to Brain Olympics if you will or its actual name-Mind Challenge for the New Majority;
Semi-finals and Championship. This trivia competition is, as you know, for active seniors, which is each and every one of you. Now in its second year, I have been asked, by my friends, Mind Challenge founders, Art Greenberg and his partner, Phil Levine along with Lana Oriani of Get Lucky Trivia, to say a few words as we kick-off the competition on this Tuesday. Due to the pandemic I cannot be with all of you in person of which I am so disappointed.
We began in January, before the Covid-19 struck, with 75 teams and over 500 participants representing 34 cities, which is up from 16 last year. I am too a senior and probably a lot older than some of you, so I too, am considered one of the old people. But as a headline I just saw yesterday, said, “Old People have never been so powerful, and at the same time so vulnerable to the Covid-19.” OK, so we are fragile and have been quarantined going on four months, but we are strong, smart and hopeful of a new day… every day. It has been a horrific few months and I pray all of you here today are healthy and well and your family and friends too.
So, enjoy this day, exercise the wonderful brain God has given you, and exercise your spiritual gifts as you exercise your physical gifts. Enjoy this special day. Good luck to all of you."
